The Assembly Rooms set in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne city centre.
Designed by William Newton, the building was completed and the opening celebrated with an assembly in Newcastle's famous Race Week, on Midsummer's night in 1776. Now into it's fourth century The Assembly Rooms is a historic building of international importance and has been sympathetically restored to match it's former glory and is to this day, according to the inscription on it's foundation stone laid in 1774: "Rooms dedicated to the most elegant recreation"
A combination of great pride and particular attention to detail during the restoration of the Assembly Rooms, combined with unparalleled levels of service have ensured that the Assembly Rooms are once again a premier location for both corporate and social functions.
The Assembly Rooms has six main function suites accommodating from 30 to 550 guests. In addition to the existing six suites are the Meldon and Halton Suites, recently refurbished with state of the art audio-visual equipment these facilities can be customised to exactly meet business requirements.
The Assembly Rooms offer a wide range of elegant facilities, providing a perfect location for hosting your function whatever the occasion. The Chandelier Room can accommodate up to 330 for fine dining with the two outer rooms offering full bar lounge facilities and a separate reception room.
The rooms interlink and all lead to the main ballroom, so when incorporated provide the perfect backdrop for the grandest events to the more intimate celebrations.
